What is Hailsham Trust?
Hailsham Trust is a community
enterprise, and a registered limited company. It trades and makes money
like any other company but any profits are re-invested in the community to
achieve social, economic or environmental objectives.
Hailsham Trust has been in
existence since 1999 as an informal partnership and registered as a
company with charitable objectives in 2003.
Our mission is to secure and oversee
the use of resources in the regeneration of Hailsham and district,
responding to local needs with local solutions.
Our main achievements have been:
-
the building of a new, £1.8million
Community Centre in Hailsham East which has been successfully handed
over to East Sussex County Council to secure its long term future
-
the purchase and refurbishment of
two town centre properties for community use
-
the setting up of a Local Learning
Centre in the centre of Hailsham and the provision of a Jobpoint,
careers guidance, business advice and volunteer services to the local
community
-
securing additional funding to
increase regeneration work in the town
-
securing national recognition for
the work of Hailsham Trust and thereby highlighting what Hailsham has
to offer
